London's Cycleways: every TfL Cycleway mapped, C1 to C66

54 numbered Cycleways are built and signed in London, 393 km of route across 27 boroughs, and 51% of that length is on a cycle track or path separate from motor traffic. Each one has its own page below: the map, where it runs, the streets it follows, how protected it is and how quiet SuperSafeā„¢ rates it.

The Cycleway network on one map

Every built route from the signed network, drawn from the same OpenStreetMap data our London map is built on. Two fingers move the map; pick a route in the table for its own page.

Every Cycleway, longest first

Protected is the share of the route on a cycle track or a path of its own. Quiet is the share SuperSafeā„¢ rates quiet: a track, a low traffic street or a road with little motor traffic. Tap a route for its map, its streets and its connections.

Notes and sources

Routes are the bicycle route relations tagged as Transport for London Cycleways (and the Cycle Superhighways they replaced) in OpenStreetMap, read from the June 2026London extract our routing map is built from. Every relation with a route's number is folded into one route; relations tagged proposed are left out of the built length and counted as a planned extension. A numbered route shorter than a kilometre is a connector rather than a route and has no page.

Length is the sum of the mapped ways, each counted once. Protected means the way is a cycleway in its own right, or a road with a mapped separate track. Quiet and lit are what SuperSafeā„¢ rates the route's ways on the Cyclemate London map, over the share of the route the map holds. Quietways and Cycleway numbers that exist only as proposals are not listed. Spotted a route that has changed? Tell us.

For the river crossings the network relies on, see every Thames bridge ranked for cycling. The quiet back streets between the Cycleways are on the low traffic neighbourhoods map.

London's Cycleways: your questions

What is a Cycleway in London?

A Cycleway is a signed cycle route in Transport for London’s network, numbered C1 upwards. Since 2019 the name covers what used to be the Cycle Superhighways, the fast routes on main roads, and the Quietways, the back-street routes; each is now a C number. Some sections are protected cycle tracks and some are quiet streets with signs.

How many Cycleways are there in London?

54 numbered Cycleways are built and signed on the map, 393 km of route across 27 boroughs. 51% of that length is on a cycle track or path separate from motor traffic.

Which is the longest Cycleway in London?

Cycleway 27, at 30.1 km.

Which Cycleway is the most protected?

Of the routes over 5 km, Cycleway 54 has the highest share of its length on a track or path of its own, 87%, between Canning Town and Royal Albert Docks.

Does Cyclemate follow the Cycleways?

Where they are the safest way. SuperSafe rates every street in London, Cycleways included, and prefers protected tracks and quiet streets, so its routes follow a Cycleway where it is protected or quiet and leave it where the signed route runs along a busy road.
