Route creation, in-app

We're really excited to announce a powerful update to the app: route creation in-app.

With the latest version you can now make custom routes and group rides without leaving the app. Craft your next city ride using our SuperSafe™ route builder, share with friends, and explore together with turn-by-turn directions. Prefer to use your laptop? Want to import GPX recordings from other apps? Our web version has you covered.

For group rides, you also get a branded event page where you can collect RSVPs so you know exactly who's coming.

Behind the scenes, we've made significant improvements to the speed and reliability of our routing system, which lets us expand to more cities. Reach out if you or your biking coalition is interested in bringing Cyclemate to your city.

Cyclemate is built by a small team of engineers and mapping enthusiasts trying to make cycling the default way to get around. We're still early, and we're building this alongside the community — learning which everyday trips can be made bike-first. This week, that meant setting up a surfboard rack and turning another regular journey into a bike ride. :)
